Our new School Vision!
11th Sep 2026
Today, we came together as a school community to officially launch our new school vision:
"Richmount Primary School aspires to be a child-centred, safe and inclusive school, at the heart of the community, where every child is known, valued and challenged to achieve their full potential within a nurturing Christian ethos."
During assembly, Mr Johnston spoke to the children about the importance of having a vision and why every successful school needs a clear sense of direction. He compared our vision to setting out on a car journey. If you start travelling without knowing where you are going, it is easy to become lost along the way. Our vision is like a destination. It gives us a clear picture of where we want to go as a school and helps guide the decisions we make each day.
Together, we explored each part of our vision in a way that children from P1 to P7 could understand. We discussed what it means to be child-centred, how we can make everyone feel safe, included, known and valued, and why it is important to challenge ourselves to achieve our best. We also reflected on the role our Christian ethos plays in shaping the values we show through our words and actions every day.
Most importantly, we talked about how our vision is not just a statement written on a wall. It is something that comes to life through the choices we make and the way we treat others. Whether it is showing kindness to a friend, including someone in a game, working hard in class, helping a younger pupil, or demonstrating respect and good manners, every member of our school community has a part to play in helping us achieve our vision.
To finish the assembly, every child was challenged to think of one thing they could do next week to help bring our vision to life. We look forward to seeing the many different ways our pupils demonstrate kindness, inclusion, perseverance and respect as we work together towards making our vision a reality.
This launch marks the beginning of an exciting journey for Richmount Primary School, and we are looking forward to seeing our vision grow and flourish across every aspect of school life throughout the year ahead.
