Pupil Voice
At Richmount Primary School, we firmly believe that every child has the right to be heard and that their ideas, opinions and experiences play an important role in shaping our school community. We value pupil voice and actively involve our pupils in decision-making, school improvement planning and the daily life of the school.
We recognise that pupils are at the heart of everything we do. By listening to their views and providing meaningful opportunities for involvement, we empower our children to become confident, responsible and active members of our school community. Through a range of leadership and ambassadorial roles, pupils help to influence important decisions, contribute to school developments and support the smooth running of school life.
Our pupil leadership groups provide opportunities for children to develop valuable skills such as communication, teamwork, problem-solving, responsibility and leadership, while also giving them ownership of key areas of school improvement.
We are proud of the contribution our pupils make to school life. Through their leadership, ideas and enthusiasm, they help make our school a better place for everyone and ensure that pupil voice remains at the centre of our journey of continuous improvement.
School Council
The School Council acts as the voice of our pupils. Representatives from across the school meet regularly to discuss ideas, share the views of their classmates and work alongside staff to help improve school life. The School Council plays an important role in decision-making, consultation exercises, fundraising initiatives and helping to shape priorities for school development. This year our school council have worked hard to establish our four core values that will inform our direction in achieving our new school vision.
Eco Committee
Our Eco Committee is passionate about protecting the environment and promoting sustainable practices throughout the school. Committee members help lead environmental projects, encourage recycling, reduce waste and raise awareness of important environmental issues. Through their work, pupils develop a sense of responsibility for the world around them and help create a greener school community.
Digital Leaders
Our Digital Leaders are technology ambassadors within the school. They support the use of digital technology in classrooms, help staff and pupils utilise digital tools effectively and promote online safety. Digital Leaders play a key role in developing our digital learning environment and ensuring technology enhances teaching and learning across the school.
Buddies
Our Buddies help create a welcoming, caring and inclusive school environment. They support younger pupils, help children settle into school life and encourage positive friendships on the playground. Buddies act as positive role models and help ensure that all children feel happy, supported and valued within our school community.
Librarians
Our Librarians promote a love of reading throughout the school. They help organise and maintain the school library, support pupils in selecting appropriate books and encourage others to discover the enjoyment of reading. Their role helps foster a positive reading culture and supports our commitment to developing confident, enthusiastic readers, one of our primary targets in school this year.
House Captains
Our House Captains are role models who demonstrate our school values every day. They provide leadership within their house teams, encourage teamwork and school spirit, and help organise and promote school events and competitions. House Captains play an important role in motivating and inspiring pupils while helping to build a strong sense of community and belonging across the school.
